Single-phase autotransformers
Operating mainly in the territories of Bologna, but with one consolidated presence throughout the national territory, E.F.C. stands out for its production of single-phase and three-phase autotransformers for starting motors, tailor-made for the specific needs of customers.
Our autotransformers can be built to standard voltages 380V e 220V (400V and 230V), or upon customer request at any other voltage necessary, both reducers and elevators (for example 220/380V or 220/110V).
Autotransformers, both reducers and step-ups, are devices electrical in which the Primary and secondary windings are physically connected to each other. This feature allows you to significantly reduce the size of the autotransformers compared to transformers of the same power. Externally, their construction is similar to that of a normal transformer.
However, since the primary and secondary windings are connected, the autotransformers cannot be used in applications where it is requested a insulation between the primary and secondary circuits.
There are also single-phase autotransformers with variable output (called VARIAC single phase) which they are used where there is a need to vary the supply voltage.

Structure of the autotransformer single phase

Generally, all autotransformers are made in open (open) execution with IP00 protection rating, but containers can be supplied in sheet steel with protection degree IP23 or other.
